Spring?

The sun has been out all week-end long and the snow/ice is slowly melting. It was such a nice day we picked up a lunch at drive thru and picnicked in a park. Upon arriving home mid-afternoon we noted that temperature recorded in pick-up was at 68. (Meteorologists predicted temps in the 50's!) It was nice enough to sit on screened-in deck. We winterized deck screening with plastic sheeting to keep snow etc. out - and here is what our deck thermometer read!!!

Right vs. Left

Larry read an article that was a study of cats. The study determined that males are "left pawed" while females are "right pawed". Oh yeah...like I want a grant to do a similar 'study'. But it got us to thinking...where do our "girls" fall in that study?

Well...if you happen to doze off in a recliner or in a prone position LB will crawl up onto your chest to snooze with you. Not only does she snore she will stretch her front right leg out to reach toward your face. LB will also snuggle up during the night, on colder nights wanting under covers and fiddling at bed covering with right front paw. Sam on the other hand is not a snuggler...she'll only pay attention to you when you aren't noticing her. She'll crawl up onto your lap and circle around (thank goodness she's not a lab) to get herself positioned just right. Usually anywhere near your right hand so that she can saddle up to it for a right side belly rub. Sam will also sleep on my pillow at night - above my head. She will reach out with her right front paw and grab my hand so that she can rest her head on it - and will usually hold my wrist down with her paw.

Okay then our observations are that the "girls" are right pawed...I wonder if they've read the same article?
