Irish Cream Breezes

I'm really enjoying retirement. I've taken every opportunity to travel and visit various quilt shops with sisters, husband and going solo. Unfortunately with each visit I would "purchase" fabric, kits, patterns ... etc. etc. etc. Having taken the time to organize ... excuse me, reorganize my quilting areas I have discovered many-many-many projects tucked away into various places. What a joy! Fun, fun, fun! It was like Christmas all over again! I soon discovered that I had the forethought when making a purchase to get everything needed to complete the project ~~ brilliant on my part (or dumb luck?).

This table runner project was a kit, purchased in Rapid City at Thimble Cottage Quilt Village. It is a Pearl Louise Design entitled "Irish Cream Breezes". It was a simple pattern, went together easily, and was chosen for the beautiful blending of colors.

Now ... excuse me ... gotta go lay out next project!!!

"Snapshots" ~~~ continued

This current quilting project is moving along quite nicely. When I reach the point of saturation I stop and take a day off. Surprisingly that has only occurred once.
Stacks of cut fat quarters became a stack of 63 blocks.
Stack of 63 blocks became nine rows of seven blocks each (a clothes rack CAN be used for something other than drying clothes).
Center of top is assembled ...

... and with border added the top of quilt is completed. Now all that is left is assembling top/batting/backing and pinning and to quilt together!

Living Room "progress"

Living room is slowly getting back in order. We've replaced media center, gotten a recliner for Lars, and have ordered new sofa and glider rocker. Found these end tables on sale and am quite pleased with the look. By the time everything is in it's place it will be time to put up the tree!!!

Brotherly "love"?

Had a fun photo op ... only problem ... cell phone and visor mirror. Must say it turned out! Cooper had reached out and was patting Noah's nose. For whatever reason Noah thought it was hilarious ~

Fine dining ...

Never let it be said that when staying overnight at grandma and grandpa's you don't dine in fine style. Noah made the scrambled eggs and bacon, we provided the stemware for his apple juice.

Jan Karon

I really enjoyed reading the "Mitford Years" series (books 1-9). The series focused on the lives of the inhabitants of a small Mississippi town. The main character is an Episcopalian priest by the name of Father Tim Cavanaugh.I was given a colorNook as a gift and soon discovered that Jan Karon had begun writing another series and again featuring Father Tim. To date there are two in this series. Hopefully Ms. Karon will continue writing about her fictional priest. Raised as an Episcopalian myself I imagine Father Tim looks alot like our Father Stilwell.
